About Our Practice in Guelph

Dr. Mark Anthony Lukito is the owner and primary practitioner of EyeWell and an affiliate of Dr. Mark Lukito, Dr. Dana Smart, and associates. He completed his undergraduate degree in honours biology (HBSc) at the University of Waterloo in 2002 and his Doctor of Optometry (OD) in visual science at the prestigious University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2006.

During his tenure, he was the recipient of the Bobier/Fischer/Lyle Prize, the Advanced Medical Optics Award for Research in Contact Lens Care, and the Optometry Faculty Undergraduate Research Scholarship.

In 2008, he became director of Dr. Mark Lukito & Associates, practicing under Luxottica Inc., before opening 2 separate office locations in both Guelph and Oakville in 2016. During those years, he was also a clinical instructor in the primary care externship program at the University of Waterloo for student optometrists. He has been involved in multiple student volunteer programs, helping those achieve their goals of becoming practicing optometrists.

Dr. Lukito has been practicing in Guelph for 15 years. He loves serving his community in primary eye care and has recently extended his scope of practice to include concussion management and vision therapy.

Samantha started working with the office’s vision therapy VT section in 2020, helping Dr. Lukito implement vision therapy into the practice. She expanded to a more fixed role in the clinic in 2022. Samantha works primarily in vision therapy and at the front desk as an administrator to expand EyeWell brands in optical.

Samantha graduated from the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) for vision therapists in 2020, and her current position is that of vision therapy manager and director. She has worked in the eye care industry since 2018 and previously worked in health care with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and cerebral palsy (CP) patients in Australia, which drew her into vision therapy. Samantha loves taking a holistic view of each patient’s needs and now works closely with her partner to develop customized treatment plans.

Samantha finds great fulfillment in witnessing the life-changing impact of vision therapy on patients’ overall well-being. Outside work, she loves to be active, play different sports, and spend time with family.

Michelle brings a wealth of experience and a warm, caring personality to her role as a vision therapist at EyeWell. With over 8 years dedicated to the eye care industry, Michelle is passionate about helping patients achieve their vision goals.

Before joining EyeWell, Michelle spent 23 years as a dedicated stay-at-home mom. Her nurturing nature extends to her work, where she enjoys building relationships with patients and witnessing the transformative power of vision therapy. In fact, seeing patients progress and their lives improve is what motivates Michelle most.

Michelle’s journey to vision therapy wasn’t linear. After becoming a certified childbirth educator in 2008, she expanded her skillset by completing her Practical Vision Therapist Program (PVTP) in 2020. She also brings a creative spark to her life as a Kindermusik educator.

Outside the clinic, Michelle stays active in her church community and shares her love of music by singing in a women’s barbershop chorus and quartet, performing and competing throughout the community. Michelle’s unique blend of experience, empathy, and enthusiasm makes her a valuable asset to the EyeWell team.

Aesha brings a blend of dedication, enthusiasm, and a passion for learning to her role as an optometric assistant at EyeWell. With over 2 years of experience in the eye care industry and one year at EyeWell, Aesha is a valuable asset to our team.

Aesha graduated with distinction from Charusat University in 2020 and furthered her education by completing a rigorous 2-year post-graduation certification in healthcare administration and service management in 2023. This commitment to continuous learning ensures her patients receive up-to-date and efficient care.

Aesha thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the daily opportunity to learn new things. Her dedication extends beyond the clinic—outside of work, she enjoys a variety of activities that celebrate exploration and knowledge. Whether hitting the trails for a hike, venturing to new destinations, or getting lost in a good book, Aesha embraces life with an adventurous spirit. Her love of learning and active lifestyle translate into a positive and energetic presence at EyeWell.

Jasvir brings a ray of sunshine and a dedication to exceptional service to her role as an optician at EyeWell. With 2 years of experience in the eye care industry and one year at EyeWell, she’s a friendly face ready to help you find the perfect fit.

Jasvir graduated from George Brown College in 2024 with a diploma in her field. The most rewarding part of her job is seeing the joy on a patient’s face when they find the perfect pair of glasses. She thrives on building relationships with patients by listening to their stories and understanding their needs. Her keen observational skills and organized approach ensure a smooth and efficient experience.

Beyond the clinic, Jasvir enjoys indulging her creative side through baking. She’s also an avid reader and loves exploring new cafes, restaurants, and parks. Whether it’s a walk in nature or spending time with her niece and family, Jasvir embraces life with an energetic spirit. Her positive attitude and dedication to service make her a valuable member of the EyeWell team.

David is a dedicated student optometric assistant with a passion for eye care and a vibrant personality characterized by hard work, humour, and cheerfulness. He initially joined Dr. Lukito’s team for the summer of 2020 and returned in May 2024 for another rewarding summer experience.

With a solid foundation in the eye care industry since 2020 (accumulating 4 years of valuable experience), David is pursuing further education at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Bachelor of Science with honours in biomedical sciences, where he graduated with Dean’s Honours in 2022. Subsequently, he furthered his academic achievements by completing a Master of Science in kinesiology in 2023. Presently, he is diligently working towards obtaining his Doctor of Optometry, with an expected graduation year of 2027.

At the office, David works closely with patients. He takes in all the different learning opportunities that not only enrich his current position but also contribute to shaping his future career in optometry.

Outside work, David values leading an active lifestyle. He enjoys running, playing golf, lacrosse, baseball, and hockey with friends, and exploring new destinations through travel experiences with his family.
